 Toph had been lodging for several days in Sokka’s new Baking Quarter office, sleeping on his spare mat and not really caring what her parents made of it. It served them right for trying to pull her back into the very society she’d gone out of her way to leave. You’d think after saving the Earth Kingdom and ending a century of warfare they’d respect her for herself, but no – she was still treated like a child who was expected to make nice at parties and act like she cared about hulusheng music.

At all hours of the day and night it smelled like hot bread, which might have bothered him if he were more aware of his surroundings.  The small girl watched the creature wriggling at the bottom of the bowl. Once more water was added it stopped thrashing so violently, instead beginning to crawl with an undulating motion that reminded her of a worm. It didn’t go anywhere, but seemed eager to keep in motion, unaware of how futile its efforts were.   
 She’d heard about these. “I didn’t know they were so large. The pictures seemed smaller.”

Couple of mystery stories for you this week. Yes, they're set after the Avatar series finale. No, they're not 'serious' continuations. I'm just hoping they're fun to read. And they don't have any shipping.

Yet.

So... I'm twenty-one now. Old. Old and not yet drunk. I'm not where I want to be as a writer, but recently - and I'm not saying it's a function of age, but of social interaction - I've had reason to sit down and work more often. It's not bad. I'm finding that using a desktop is helpful since I'm not distracted. Anyway, it's late and I'm planning to put something good in the old microwave, so good evening and good on you.

I'm hoping the same. The Ursa thing really riled up my g/f, she wanted some closure. I wish we had seen toph being accepted back into her family. We also never saw the lovely Koh again, which I was counting on.

I'm hoping for a TV movie to tie up the lose ends, I am hoping they don't do another series though. I love Avatar, but I think Aang's story is over. I'd love to see a new series in the same world though...
